Appeal of Ukrainian business to the leaders of the G7 countries and the EU

On December 5, millions of Ukrainians, including terrified children, hid in bomb shelters as Russian missiles thundered above them again. This was the fifteenth time since early October that Ukrainian cities and civilian energy infrastructure had been attacked. To prevent a humanitarian and economic catastrophe in Ukraine that will inevitably spill over into neighboring countries, Western leaders must urgently put an end to the continued bombing of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. The West’s response must include increased military support and economic intervention. Specifically, it is necessary to increase weapon supplies to Ukraine, namely long-range missiles, as well as radically strengthen sanctions against the Russian economy and introduce secondary sanctions to close the loopholes currently exploited by the Kremlin.

Putin’s bombing has plunged Ukraine into darkness and left tens of millions of Ukrainians without heat, light, or water.Many companies have been forced to suspend operations or close entirely, and many people have lost their jobs. This is happening at the onset of winter. According to World Bank estimates, Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction will cost about 500-600 billion euros, and this figure grows daily. We need not just words of support, but guarantees that with your active assistance, we can withstand the harsh conditions ahead. Ukraine needs the ability to strike back. Lifting restrictions on targeting Russian military facilities is critical. Without this capability, far more civilians will die, more businesses will close, and Ukraine’s economy will be destroyed.

Today, more than just the fate of Ukraine is at stake. If Putin is not defeated once and for all, Moldova, Poland, the Baltic states, and others will certainly be the next targets. Western leaders now have a unique opportunity to defeat Putin in Ukraine without sacrificing their own troops. Ukrainians have proven themselves to be resilient and determined. We are ready to fight for our country’s survival and for Europe’s freedom. We only ask that the West provide Ukraine with the tools so we can complete our mission and save tens of millions of Ukrainians and their European neighbors from a winter without light, heat, and water.
